An exciting year behind us!
It has been a successful year for GTH in 2022, with a focus on establishing and growing our Energy-from-Waste platform, Varme Energy, and co-founding Carbon Circle, an energy transition EPC house and Carbon Capture & Storage specialist.
We continued to grow the GTH Group by expanding our organization, securing equity capital and making strategic investments to further our ambitions in the EfW, CCS and bio energy sectors.
The Group is committed to create value, drive innovation and growth within the clean energy industry in 2023.

Company highlights from 2022
Established pure play Energy-from-waste platform
- Ramped up Energy-from-Waste execution capabilities with new hires and several thousand hours of engineering work completed
- Established Varme Energy – a pure play Energy-from-Waste asset platform with several projects under development in the UK and Canada
- Signed MoU with large industrial player in Canada for long term lease, PPA and CCS offtake
- Secured site for first EfW project in the UK
Established Carbon Circle – An energy transition EPC house and Carbon Capture & Storage specialist
- Co-founded the company in May 2022 alongside a highly experienced management team
- Secured multiple contracts within Oil & Gas, EfW and CCS, ensuring backlog into 2023
- Signed frame agreement with Ocean GeoLoop for EPC services within carbon capture
- 20 experienced employees hired with strong growth ambitions for 2023
Continued to grow the GTH Group
- Expanded organization, currently over 50 employees in GTH Group
- Raised equity capital for GTH Group, bringing the total to over NOK 110m
- Strategic investment in Aitos Energy-from-Waste technology to increase ownership stake
- Won key EfW contracts for Ecvio, including frame agreements for mechanical work and refractory services at three of the largest EfW facilities in Norway
- Successfully developed and divested the Green Bio asset portfolio with a substantial return on equity
- Pipeotech – successful deliveries to industrial clients across Europe, North America and Asia
